Nick’s Friday Round-Up: Things that Are, Things That Weren’t, and Things that Might Be Edition.

LET'S ALL TAKE A RIDE ON THE HAPPY TRAIN!!
I have no crazy stories this week about squirrels or moles or raccoons. All I have is a sad thing that happened this week, which was Davy Jones from the Monkees died. =( He was my favorite Monkee. Also, Word Press should be ashamed of itself for trying to tell me that I spelled "Monkee" wrong. >:[
OK, everybody back aboard the HAPPY TRAIN!! Let's start this crazy Round-Up!
COLORING! Everybody loves coloring. If you say you don't, you're lying. If you tell me you always stay inside the lines, you're lying. Even as an adult you go outside the lines. Don't try to deny it. Well what if you could color with Star Wars crayons? Sure, it might be a bit more difficult to use than your normal crayon, but, IT'S FREAKIN' STAR WARS CRAYONS! [geekologie]
One of the cool things about the 360 and PS3 are the achievements and trophies. They don't really do anything except give us a small sense of accomplishment. What if things in real life gave us achievements. Well, guess what... there is. A company by the name of Roccat is releasing a gaming mouse that gives you real life achievements for reaching certain goals while using the mouse. I've just clicked the mouse 5000 times! WOOOHOOO!! [geekosystem]

Remember last week when I showed you what Batman would look like if he was alive during Medieval times? This week I'm going to show you what he'd look like as Steampunk Batman. There was recently leaked CGI footage for a steampunk Batman game that, sadly, got scrapped, and never happened. [dailywhat]
As it turns out, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed Revelations aren't considered to be Assassin's Creed 3 and 4. There's actually an Assassin's Creed III in the works, with rumors that it will be centered around the American Revolution with a native American assassin. [geekosystem]
While we're talking about games that might be, let's talk about Sim City 5. That's right, you read that correctly. SIM. CITY. 5. You KNOW you all played Sim City. That was "THE GAME" to play, back in the day. Nothing gave more satisfaction than building a city and sending the aliens to destroy it! MUHAHAHAHA, PREPARE TO BE PROBED, TINY CITY PEOPLE!!! Woah, where the heck did that come from? So, yeah... check out some Sim City 5 leaked concept art. [gammasquad]

If there's one thing we ALL do while on the internet is search Google. However, most people don't really know how to use the Google search to it's full potential. With a little bit of reading and practice, you can learn how to search Google LIKE A BOSS! [howtogeek]
What's one of the best things about Doctor Who? The awesome variety of enemies, of course! (among other things) If you've watched the older, original Doctor Who, then you'll notice a big change from how the enemies looked back then, to how they look now. Here's the evolution of Doctor Who enemies. [ugo]
One TV and Movie theme that never seems to get old, is jumping into parallel universes. Here's a list of 11 universe-hopping sci-fi characters who awoke to alternate realities. [blastr]

There are some movies where we see a performance by the actor and are just amazed at how honest and real it looks. In some of those performances, it probably was honest and real. In other words, they weren't acting, but actually reacting. Here's 5 amazing performances from actors who weren't acting. [cracked]
HOLY CRAP, IT'S HERE! IT'S UPON US! THE MAYAN'S WERE CORRECT! THE 2012 APOCALYPSE! ZOMG!! RUN!!! [blastr]
EDIT
THE MASS EFFECT 3 LAUNCH TRAILER IS OUT!
Prepare for a full onslaught of mind-blowing awesomazingness!

St. Nick’s Friday Round-Up: CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR Edition

And a follow up picture...

This picture could only be better if they dressed up another labrador as one of the Bumpus' dogs.
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Well... almost. Just two more days. Are you excite? Hopefully I can throw some extra Christmas cheer your way with a completely Christmas themed Round-Up.
What Christmas would be complete without The Grinch? We've all seen it, and if you haven't... c'mon, srsly? Where the heck have you been for the past 45 years? You have absolutely no excuse! Go watch it right now, then you can come back and finish reading the rest of this. Consider yourself shunned. Now, for the rest of us, here are 7 things about The Grinch, that you might not know. SPOILER ALERT: His heart grew 3 sizes that day, kinda like Lisa's ego. [warmingglow]
When I say Minecraft, the first thing you think about is Christmas, right? No? Well this might help. Some Minecraft wrapping paper. Just make sure your presents are a perfect cube shape. [geekosystem]

Two more days until Christmas also means two more days until the Doctor Who Christmas episode! For those who can't wait, here are 9 new awesome, but 'spoilery', Doctor Who Christmas pics. [blastr]
Remember all those crazy ornaments you used to put on the tree from back when you were a kid. You know the ones I'm talking about. The ones you made in school. The seriously crappy and ugly ones that nobody would ever want on their tree except for your mom, and only because you made it. Well those ornaments don't even compare to the creepiness of these ones. 11 of the most unintentionally creeeeeeepy Christmas ornaments. [cracked]
Calvin and Hobbes, one of the best comics ever made, and every winter those two made some of the most awesomely creepy snowmen. A guy by the name of JimFrommeyer recreated some of these snowmen in a horrific snowman tribute video. [geekosystem]

Want a couple minutes of entertainment? Go to Google and search "let it snow" without the quotes, then sit back and enjoy. When it finishes, click and drag your mouse around the screen. =D If you don't want to take the extra effort to go to Google yourself, then fine... I'll do it for you. [google]
Poor Megatron keeps getting the same ol' thing for Christmas, but this Christmas just might be a little different. [youtube]
Consider these next two videos, my gift to you. Merry Christmas.
Video 1: People walking down steps and slipping on a frozen landing. So relaxing. [youtube]
Video 2: A snowman prank that goes terribly wrong. [youtube]
I bet you got through this entire post thinking to yourself, "There's no way he's gonna be able to link Skyrim with Christmas. Not a chance." Well, my friend, you would be completely WRONG! Yes, I have a Christmas related Skyrim link, and it's probably my most favorite one on this list. A guy by the name of Mitch has most epicly decked his halls (and by "halls" I mean "house") with a light show. Forget syncing your lights to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, that's so last 5 years. Mitch synced his house to the theme from Skyrim. SO awesome. [gammasquad]

Nick’s Friday Round-Up: Keep Yourself Entertained Edition

I admit, I end up doing a few of these. I will never admit which ones! <_<
Halloween is over, and now all you have is candy. Unless you ate it all already, in which case, get the heck off the internet and go find yourself a treadmill! Ok, sorry, back on point. It's starting to get colder, and you probably don't want to go outside, so you need to find things to entertain you for a while. Well allow me to help you in your goal of non-bordom.
I will start off with 10 Google tricks, slash easter eggs you can do. There are more than this, but let's just start with 10 and work our way up. [buzzfeed]
Ever wonder what it would be like if shopping IRL was like shopping on the instanets? [makeuseof]
First of all, all of you Mac users may not know what I'm talking about, but please bear with me. You know back in the day when IE was one of the only browser options, so you had to use it. You'd be browsing and all of the sudden IE would crash on you. This would be a bittersweet experience. On the one hand, your browser crashed, and who knows what you were in the middle of doing. On the other hand, you got that nifty "send error report" window that popped up. It wasn't so much the window that was cool, but what you could actually do with it. A guy by the name of Ryan Watson was entertained enough by this, that he created a little flash simulation of the error. Go ahead... have fun. [crashmyie]
You know about every 6 months or so, you have to go buy a new pair of ear-buds. Well what if you could actually repair them when that right bud shorts out. Sure it only costs $10 to buy another pair of cheap ones, but sometimes you actually splurge and buy yourself a good pair and don't want to replace them. Why not use those fingers of yours for more than just typing and clicking, and go fix it yourself? [spodesabode]
For the grand finale, I present you with a game that, when I first discovered it, sucked the life right out of me. I spent DAYS playing this game, slowly getting better and better, racking up my score into the high millions, and still never coming anywhere near the high score. I apologize in advance for the amount of time you will waste, but then again, I'm not forcing you to play it. I present to you... SolipSkier [mikengreg]

Apparently the Super Bowl Half Time Show was a secret ode to Skyrim
My my, Batman, you're looking quite dapper this evening.
