Nick’s Friday Round-Up: Self-Serving Edition
Today's Round-Up is a little bit different. I have a few links for you, but I kinda want to promote myself a little bit. I'm considering starting a Minecraft Youtube series, and I've uploaded the first video. So as my test audience, if you have the time, go watch it and throw me some suggestions and comments. Let me know what ya think, and what I can do to make it more entertaining.

Nick’s Friday Round-Up: Super-Short Edition

Dragonball Z is one of my favorite anime... animes? animi?... of all time. The Hollywood movie was severely lacking, to say the least. This fan-made movie trailer is EXACTLY what the Hollywood movie SHOULD have been. I had chills during the entire thing. [blastr]
During Christmas time, it's popular to make gingerbread houses. Well somebody got a little bored with that, and decided to make a gingerbread Millennium Falcon. [geekologie]
It seems that recreating movies and stuff with LEGO's is the new cool thing to do, so here's a funny recreation of the battle of Helm's Deep. [howtogeek]
It's the end of an era with the last Nintendo Power magazine, so it's very fitting that their last magazine cover is a recreation of their very first cover. [geekologie]
There are certain levels in video games that we all dread. One of them being any water level. Ocarina of Time, anyone? But there's also the ice levels. Some of them are cool, (puns!) and yet, others are the soul cause of so many rage-quits. Here are the top 5 best and worst videogame ice levels. [gammasquad]
It's winter, so that means there will be the wearing of gloves. That also means that you can't do jack squat on your smart phone without taking that glove off... or does it? Here's a relatively cheap DIY on how you can modify your gloves to interact with your touchscreen. [howtogeek]
Not sure what to get that geek friend for Christmas? How about a massive collection of Star Wars action figures. [geekologie]

Nick’s Friday Round-Up

Let's start off this week with a some awesomazingness. Such as a man who plans to make a full-scale Millennium Falcon, including the interior. [geekologie]
MOAR creepy robots! DARPA is at it AGAIN with a humanoid robot that can traverse crazy obstacles. [geekologie]
Science fiction is slowly becoming science fact. Those crazy scientists have once again laughed in the face of physics, or whatever, and created a real life tractor beam. [geekosystem]
Once again, someone has come along and ruined our childhood. Severely creepy humanized versions of our favorite cereal mascots. [geekologie]
To make up for that last link, here's a Disney themed Voltron. [geekologie]

St. Nick’s Friday Round-Up: CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR Edition

And a follow up picture...

This picture could only be better if they dressed up another labrador as one of the Bumpus' dogs.
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Well... almost. Just two more days. Are you excite? Hopefully I can throw some extra Christmas cheer your way with a completely Christmas themed Round-Up.
What Christmas would be complete without The Grinch? We've all seen it, and if you haven't... c'mon, srsly? Where the heck have you been for the past 45 years? You have absolutely no excuse! Go watch it right now, then you can come back and finish reading the rest of this. Consider yourself shunned. Now, for the rest of us, here are 7 things about The Grinch, that you might not know. SPOILER ALERT: His heart grew 3 sizes that day, kinda like Lisa's ego. [warmingglow]
When I say Minecraft, the first thing you think about is Christmas, right? No? Well this might help. Some Minecraft wrapping paper. Just make sure your presents are a perfect cube shape. [geekosystem]

Two more days until Christmas also means two more days until the Doctor Who Christmas episode! For those who can't wait, here are 9 new awesome, but 'spoilery', Doctor Who Christmas pics. [blastr]
Remember all those crazy ornaments you used to put on the tree from back when you were a kid. You know the ones I'm talking about. The ones you made in school. The seriously crappy and ugly ones that nobody would ever want on their tree except for your mom, and only because you made it. Well those ornaments don't even compare to the creepiness of these ones. 11 of the most unintentionally creeeeeeepy Christmas ornaments. [cracked]
Calvin and Hobbes, one of the best comics ever made, and every winter those two made some of the most awesomely creepy snowmen. A guy by the name of JimFrommeyer recreated some of these snowmen in a horrific snowman tribute video. [geekosystem]

Want a couple minutes of entertainment? Go to Google and search "let it snow" without the quotes, then sit back and enjoy. When it finishes, click and drag your mouse around the screen. =D If you don't want to take the extra effort to go to Google yourself, then fine... I'll do it for you. [google]
Poor Megatron keeps getting the same ol' thing for Christmas, but this Christmas just might be a little different. [youtube]
Consider these next two videos, my gift to you. Merry Christmas.
Video 1: People walking down steps and slipping on a frozen landing. So relaxing. [youtube]
Video 2: A snowman prank that goes terribly wrong. [youtube]
I bet you got through this entire post thinking to yourself, "There's no way he's gonna be able to link Skyrim with Christmas. Not a chance." Well, my friend, you would be completely WRONG! Yes, I have a Christmas related Skyrim link, and it's probably my most favorite one on this list. A guy by the name of Mitch has most epicly decked his halls (and by "halls" I mean "house") with a light show. Forget syncing your lights to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, that's so last 5 years. Mitch synced his house to the theme from Skyrim. SO awesome. [gammasquad]

Lisa Shares Her Holiday Wishlist With GeekSugar!
Hey! That's me!
GeekSugar.com is pretty much the most adorbz geeky girl website I've seen since CuteGirlsLickingElectronicsWithoutGettingElectrocuted.com. What do you mean that's not a real site?
Anyway, GeekSugar was awesome enough to feature me in a Holiday Wishlist piece where I converse about my Holiday Wishlist. Of course it includes a Nerf gun. You should have expected this from me by now.
