Stu’s Web Wednesday: A Special Question

So this week is more a pull for the community. Yes, all three of you. Our fearless Sith Lord of a leader Lisa posted the above post on her Twitter page. Seeing this is something I've been suggesting for her to do for ages now, it pleases me greatly. So, in the comments, answer her question. What stupid crap do you guys want to see? Because you well know that pretty much anything she posts will be cross posted here.

Bring back the top-5/10/etc list vids!
Collaboration videos with her fellow Save Point writers.
I second the above two suggestions. I also highly enjoyed the three episodes of the web series that used to exist on this website. Now I know that wont be continued regardless, but I simply wanted to mention it because that was entertaining to watch and something along those lines might be a good idea.
I’m sure I’ll enjoy pretty much anything that gets posted, but just to contribute in the idea-box I figured I might as well mention it.
Cheers!
Everyday Achievements was more a proof of concept more than anything else, though a very time consuming and pretty funny one. They were those first demo reels on how the heck do we do this. They were also a product of me pestering Lisa to do something for years.
“Is that pee?”
I almost died laughing.
For me the “Hey, want to go ride bikes? Disorder” is one of the best concepts ever.
That and the part about where “the sun makes my skin make a sizzle noise and the noise attracts bees and I’m very allergic to bees” is also genius.
That wasn’t a cheerio btw.
I use “Use your mouth words” in every day conversation and have gotten it traction as general use statement down here.
I love the Everyday Achievements series as well, and all those skits and stuff that were occasionally put in front of the Top 5 videos (I figure they’re kind of similar). Something like that would be great.
Sincerely? I do not know… But… but… you(Lisa Foiles) are just so cute/hot that pretty much anything will work!
Be glad that you specified Lisa because I, Stuart (the one who wrote this), am pretty sure I’m not the one you intended those complements.
some video game reviews from Lisa would be nice too. I still remember her review she did for angryjoe for Lara Crodt Guardian of Light. I definitly would like to see a review of Suda51s new game lollipop Chainsaw
I believe that quota is already going to be taken by “The Good, The Bad, & The Rating” over on The Game Station: http://youtu.be/zGJfa6dV_gs Watch it. You will not be sad.
Epic battles between Lisa and her fellow SavePointians.
And by that I also mean like, debate-style videos where you argue on different sides on various gaming topics.
I’m glad you specified. Because Lisa’d kick my ass.
Oh don’t get me wrong, if one person looks like they might be faltering in their argument I’m sure there’ll be no rules entirely restricting violence/foam weapons/jelly and ice cream/general dirty tactics.
In fact, if you allowed the viewers to vote on who wins the argument of the episode and in the next the loser must face a forfeit, it’d positively be encouraged…
I could take her. I’m an expert face-puncher, especially if it’s Lisa’s face I’m looking at.
I don’t believe it for a minute. She doesn’t work on anything. Don’t let her bait you into doing her dirty work.
Agreed. All she does is sit around all day and ignore peoples tweets and texts and plays video games. What a jerk. >:[
I think a Lisa Let’s Play would be awesome.
Agreed. So much agreed.
That would be amazing, I’d love to see a let’s play with the whole Loadsavepoint team, I think the personality interplay would be hilarious.
I’m in this boat, although I’m trying to get away from watching people play games (it’s cutting into my you know, playing video games time), but if anyone could entice me to watch them play video games, it would be Lisa. :p
Wouldn’t mind a return of the Top 5 thing, if there isn’t any legal restriction on it…
You sir, are a genius.
Stupid, silly, no-budget sketch comedy offerings.
More of Lisa getting hit in the forehead with printer paper. That was comedy gold. Every time I think about it, it makes me laugh.
If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were Nick under a different screen name.
INORITE?!? I love this guy! =P
Nope. Totally different person. As far as I know, at least. I could have that whole Fight Club thing going on. Is that old enough that I don’t need to warn about spoilers?
In all seriousness, I would love to see more Lisa Foiles comedy bits. There are tons of people out there doing good game reviews, but nobody makes me laugh like her.
Noooooo,
I haven’t watched that yet (Fight club),
it’s been lying under my tv for ages now
I liked to listen her babble about random videogame-related stuff. The Top 5 was cool but I dunno if she can continue doing that. Because of reasons.
I guess a random blog in the shape of…vlogs…would be cool. We just need a cool non-fake gamer girl out there who knows her junk and doesn’t seem to be there just to make guys go “BEWBS OR GTFO!” MMM represent gurllllll!
So yeah, stupid crap like what we’re used to. I just went around in circles, didn’t I?
SHOW ME YOURE BOBIES!
You guys need a guest star in one of these videos named Bobby.
Bobby the Boobie.
Add a catchy tune and you got yourself a show.
where does that come from ?!
I’ve seen that sentence all over the internet (well no, not aaall over the inernet), and now I neeeeed to know: what? I don’t even…
It’s from one of Lisa’s articles on Kotaku ages ago about being a Xbox Game with Fame person deal: http://kotaku.com/5488432/i-was-an-xbox-live-celebrity-for-one-night-only
It’s specifically about this screenshot: http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/9/2011/11/medium_1116744a248052ef0894f63957805d04.jpg
ah, finally I know
now i can rest in peace
I definitely like the Let’s Play idea (& if it’s anything BUT Monkey Island first, I’d be thoroughly surprised), & some more scripted stuff is always welcome.
one hour v-logs about movies, games, why life sucks and other random $hit. like the ones on spoony experiment dot com. not time consuming and fans like to watch them. i encourage.
Some ideas come to mind as what to do with a youtube channel.
- Let’s play (Amnesia seems to be a good game for that :D )
As Mrs. Foiles plays videogames, capture it, film her playing. In an evening enough footage is saved to last a monst (like 4 hours in 16 15min segments)
- As Mrs. Felicia Day does a nice job with her flog, something similar to her fav would be nice.
- Inspired by the game station colab, a mini series of the makers an shakers (peeps who start stuff like the game station) with sweet interviews and behind the scenes looks of their little start up office spaces :)
- And of course I want a news show. It would be yet another different perspective of the whole shebang.
I’d rather see something that will last. Don’t try to commit to anything that will be so much work that it turns into an unpaid job. Screw trying to stick to some kind of formula. Just do whatever you think will be fun for the week. Personally I think the change-up would be fun. Most of the time you could do easy stuff like Let’s Play, and when you want to do some prep you can do game reviews and rants. Maybe from time to time, when you’re feeling inspired, you can throw in some sketch comedy? You guys do AWESOME sketch comedy.
This is the greatest suggestion made and one I’ve tried to make many times.
Lets be honest here, I’m pretty sure most people here would gladly see Lisa doing just about anything because its Lisa. They could put her on screen opening random things. It could be her sitting and staring off in the distance for 30 minutes and someone would say its brilliant.
That being said, some of these have been said.
Let’s Play, either horror or something frustrating for Lisa.
Let’s Play Drunk! Jokes aside we know Lisa drinks, and probably not as much as the jokes suggest but after a night of drinking, strap a controller in her hands, fire up the recorder and face cam and let us laugh.
Weekly, Bi-weekly vlog, pretty much anything, mostly people here probably just want to know what she’s up to.
Lisa Foiles Being a Dick, for a few minutes of a video we see Lisa be an asshole in some various way, pranking the save point group, yelling at strangers, fighting a seal, fighting Seal.
Lisa making fun of gaming news
This. All of this.
“Something frustrating for Lisa”: So Lisa playing fighting games or X-Blades. Got it.
And you guys keep her playing until she rage quits the game.
yes,
the fighting a seal part.
I don’t know why,
butt I would love to sea that.
Even though I posted this, I noticed I never made a suggestion.
Lisa, I know this probably won’t be helpful in decision making (if you read this at all), but my suggestion is straight to the point: Do whatever you want to do, because you are charismatic, awesome and talented enough to do anything you put your mind to. Simple as that.
Stuart, you’re such a suck up. =P
That said, I’ll admit that Lisa is what drew me to this site in the first place. Glad I started following it though.
Lisa, he’s got a point, most of us love whatever appearances you make on here, so I say just wing it. Whatever seems fun at the time, go for it!
Hey! It’s not a suck up if you mean it.
To quote the wise man above. “This. All of this.” -Stuart
Wow. That person has the same name as me! I wonder who they are.
Three stormtroopers trying to pick up the same girl in a bar.
I am definitely going to throw my vote in with the idea of changing things up. It’s the best way to make sure that one thing doesn’t get too stale or too difficult to maintain.
Themes I support:
1. geek related rants
2. comedy bits or sketches
3. gaming until rage-quit, possibly with the added element of drinking. For this one, a good idea that I have seen before is to have a competition with rounds. The loser does a shot after each round.
4. answering viewer/reader questions, involving unrepentant verbal smackdown on jerks and trolls. That’s always funny.
Well….right off the top of my head I can’t figure out anything specific….I mean: Lisa Foiles + Video Games = Instant Awesome, so as long as this formula doesn’t change by too much, it’s fine with me.
